10 freezers are required to keep all our project samples frozen at the correct temperature.
– 9 is the age of the oldest Bio Detection Dog in the department.
– 8 weeks is the earliest we will start training with a puppy.
– 7 is the average number of weeks it takes to train a new dog to be ready to work on a project.
– 6 is the number of dedicated trainers we have on the Bio Detection Team. They are part of a big team that makes it all work.
– 5 is the number of projects we currently have running: The current ones are:
- Urological Cancers
- Malaria
- Parkinson’s
- Research into bacterial infections
- OU study – Canine sensory project
- Projects in the pipeline are:
- Colorectal cancer
- Animal cancers-
- 4 dogs is the average number allocated to a project.-
- 3 of our projects are due to go to double blind testing this year.
- 2 fully equipped training rooms are available to the team throughout the week.
- 1, we have 1 goal…to train dogs to save lives.
